Hey guys! So this is my very first FF ever. I'm hoping it doesn't royally suck, but I'm also hoping that's why you guys are here for. Please please please let me know what you think, and what can be improved. I feel like there's not much dialogue, but I tried to set the scene first, you know? So I'll just shut up and let you read :) Please comment and give your honest opinions. And sorry it's kinda short. It's just the beginning :)
PS- I don't know why the text at the bottom is all dark and weird..?

“Okay. Tickets? Check. Money? Check. Swag? …”
“Um… what?!”
Both girls erupted into a fit of laughter as they grabbed their stuff and headed for the car. They were beginning their road trip to Los Angeles from La Mesa, California, which is just outside of San Diego. It was a beautiful, sunny Saturday morning, about 9:00, and the girls were traveling to see their favorite band, Honor Society. They decided the LA show would bring some added excitement, seeing as it was on the famous Sunset Blvd.
Heather and Kelsey were best friends, and had been for over four years. They shared the same taste in music, boys, and well… just about everything. They were sisters at heart and couldn’t wait to make some memories this weekend.
“I can’t believe we get to see our Gents again!” Heather squealed. “It’s been so long. I miss them!”
“Oh please. You act like you know them. They don’t know you other than another face in the crowd.” Kelsey reminded Heather. “They’ve seen you five times before, but still don’t even know your name.”
“Um, alright. Thanks. Hopes and dreams, CRUSHED.” Heather giggled out.
“Sorry! But I agree with you. I miss them too.”
The girls spent the entire trip blasting music and singing along at the top of their lungs. People in oncoming traffic stared at the two girls singing into water bottles, but they didn’t care enough to notice. They were on cloud nine and couldn’t wait to get there. The trip from San Diego to LA should normally take about 2 hours, but because of the traffic, their two hour trip turned into a four hour crawl. Finally they reached the House of Blues on Sunset, and immediately beamed with delight. Heather parked the car across the street, and they walked side by side towards the line of girls waiting outside, though it was only one o’clock in the afternoon.
They quickly made friends with the girls around them, discussing everything from their strategically planned outfits, to the traffic they hit on the way, to their excitement for the evening to come. They made runs to the local Starbucks, took turns peeking inside the doors, and played cards on blankets on the sidewalk. Finally, around 3:00, a big bus pulled up to the venue, and came to a slow stop out front. The girls held their breath as the door opened, and out came the four men they had been waiting on.
“Hey guys! How are you?!” Jason asked, smiling at each girl down the line.
“Heyy!! What’s up, guys?! Thanks for coming out!” Andrew said as he gave an overexcited blond girl a big hug.
The guys began chatting with the waiting group of girls in the spare moments they had before heading into sound check. Mike walked over to where Heather and Kelsey were, and gave them the famous Bruno grin.
“Hey!” He greeted them. He held Heather’s gaze for a split second longer, and then looked away. “Are you guys excited for the show tonight?”
“Um, hello! Of course! We didn’t drive four hours for nothing!” Heather said excitedly, hoping to meet Michael’s eyes once again.
He looked at her, surprised. “You drove four hours?! Wow! Thank you, that really means a lot. We appreciate it!”
Anything for you, stud, Heather thought to herself.
A girl from the front of the line shouted for Mike to come take a picture with her, so he walked away, telling Heather and Kelsey he would see them inside.
The girls chatted with the others for a few minutes until Ned stepped off the bus and motioned the guys inside.
“NED! What’s up, dude?” Kelsey shouted. Ned looked up awkwardly and gave a half wave before quickly going inside.
“Honor Society shows just wouldn’t be complete without the awkward Ned wave. Who agrees with me?” Heather shouted down the line of girls. They all nodded in agreement and laughed about what just happened.
The girls who had wristbands for sound check went inside, while the rest of the girls waited outside in the southern California sunshine.
“There is really, honestly no place I would rather be right now. In a city I love with my best friend and my favorite band.” Heather was loving life at this moment, and didn’t care who knew it.
“I’m so glad we’re the exact same person, because this wouldn’t be as much fun if I was with someone who didn’t understand the obsession! I’m glad we’re best friends.” Kelsey smiled at Heather. The girls hugged and began taking silly pictures of themselves when they heard a lot of wooooo-ing coming from the front of the line. One by one, the long line of girls stood and began entering into the nicely air conditioned venue.
The all too familiar “House of Blues” plaque was the focal point inside, and was brightly lit up by stage lights. The energy in the room was apparent. Occasionally, someone yelling “KAT! Let’s take a picture!” or the sound of girls greeting one another could be heard. After an hour of milling around, the show was about to start. Kelsey grabbed Heather’s arm, and the two pushed up to the front, much to the dismay of the girls who were already there.
“Kels, you just shoved those girls! They were here first!” Heather whispered, while looking around at the girls around her.
“You’ll thank me later. You’ve never been front row have you? No. So stop worrying and get excited!”
The girls who were pushed repositioned themselves and gave Heather knowing smiles; as if saying it was okay. Everyone could see fine and they were all ready for the lights to go out.
The lights did just that. The room suddenly went dark and screaming erupted from the sold-out crowd. The first two acts performed and held the attention of the crowd the best they could. The girls danced and sang along when they knew the words, but the thought on everyone’s mind was what was coming up next.
“Just kiss me baby and tell me twice, that you’re the one for me, the way you make me feel...!” The memorable song played as girls ranging in age from 14 to 28 sang along as one.
Heather couldn’t help but let her mind wander back to when they were outside earlier. Had Michael really given her that look, or was it all in her head? She has always said she loved all the boys equally, but secretly she always found Michael to be sexier than the rest. The way he locked eyes with you from the stage and the way he made you fee like the only girl in the room was something that appealed to Heather. She anticipated the meet and greet after the show so she could see him again.
She was quickly snapped out of her daydream by the sudden darkness. The stage was pitch black, but the flashes from cameras showed the gentlemen emerging onto the stage in glimpses. The crowd entered into a screaming frenzy. The familiar sound of the kick drum let the whole place know Honor Society was here to blow the roof off. Mike hit a chord on the lead guitar and held it to raise the anxiousness. He was teasing them and he knew they loved every second of it.
Finally, the collaboration of instruments started into Rock With You, as each and every girl sang her heart out.
I just wanna rock with youuuu, don’t really care about a thing that they say, no. Never wanna stop with you, I’m tired of waitin’ come on over this way.
To be continued... :)
