Sorry this chapter is sorta a filler but its leading up to more stuff.
Ch. 10
“Hey.” Madelyn called as she walked into her apartment.
“Hey Mads, how was your night?”
“Good, how was yours?” Madelyn asked as she walked into their bedroom to put down the stuff she still had from the night before and also to grab clothes to change into after a shower.
“Good…” Kellie answered. Madelyn could tell that Kellie wanted to say something else, but she didn’t.
“Well I’m gonna take a shower.” Madelyn said.
Madelyn turned on the water and felt it before she jumped in. She got her hair wet and picked up shampoo and placed it in her hand. As she was about to lather it into her hair the door swung open and Kellie barged in.
“So what’s up with you and Mike?” Kellie asked.
“We’re friends.” Madelyn answered.
“Ok, what was up with yesterday? Everything ok?” Kellie asked.
“Yeah, umm well we just talked about stuff and worked things out.” Madelyn said being very broad.
“Are you ever gonna tell me what happened?” Kellie asked.
“Yeah, hold on.” Madelyn said as she turned off the water and grabbed her towel. She wrapped it around her and pulled the shower curtain open.
“Mike and I were best friends growing up. Around five years ago we hooked up and I had feelings for him but after we had sex, he never called me back and just stopped all contact with me.” Madelyn said. “But it was really hard because we were best friends our whole lives and we just stopped talking. But we talked yesterday and we realized that we both had feelings for each other and it was just weird.” Madelyn said.
“Oh.” Kellie said.
“I know that’s a lot to take in Kells, sorry I haven’t told you before.” Madelyn said. Kellie was still silent.
“Kells, you know that I really like Alex and that Mike is hooked on you.” Madelyn said.
“Yeah, I know it’s just a lot to take in… I’m gonna go eat something.” Kellie said.
Madelyn sighed as she ran a brush through her hair she couldn’t help but think no matter what her and Mike were going to bring drama with them wherever they went.
Madelyn continued to get ready and made herself some lunch before leaving the house for work.
Madelyn wasn’t sure what it was, it might have had something to do with the fact that Mike and her were getting along better now and she was finally letting go of the past.
“Kells?” Madelyn called as she came in from work.
“Yeah?” She asked as she came into the kitchen.
“So please don’t freak out on me…” Madelyn started.
“Uh oh, that doesn’t sound promising.”
“So umm we have a new roommate, his name is Bear.” Madelyn said as she opened up a kitty carrier and a small kitten crawled out. He had white grayish fur with black stripes and blue eyes.
“Aw!” Kellie exclaimed as she picked him up. “Hello precious, how are you?” She continued to hold him and carry him around the house.
He had a fun time his first night exploring the apartment. Running from room to room and attacking different things like the couch and climbing onto different things, but he was a cuddly cat and both Kellie and Madelyn were happy to have him around.
“So are you mad?” Madelyn asked as she sat down on the couch next to Bear and Kellie.
“Not mad, a little surprised but not mad. I trust you and I know you really like Alex.” Kellie said.
“That I do.”
Madelyn was glad things were fine between the two friends again. Both Kellie and Madelyn were taken from their thoughts when someone knocked at their apartment. Kellie and Madelyn both got up to get the door and Bear followed closely behind not liking being alone in the room.
“Hi.” Alex and Mike said as the girl opened the door. The girls both pulled their boyfriends quickly into the apartment making sure Bear stayed inside.
“I’m happy to see you too.” Alex said smugly.
“Ha ha ha.” Madelyn said sarcastically as she leaned up to kiss him. “Although I am happy to see you baby, it was because I didn’t want this little guy to get out.” Madelyn said as she bent down and picked up Bear.
“Aw, can I hold him?” Mike asked.
“Sure.” Madelyn said as she handed him over.
“Is his name Bear?” Mike asked.
“You remembered?!” Madelyn asked surprised.
“Come on Mads, you didn’t stop talking about how you wanted a cat named Bear when we were growing up.” Mike said with a chuckle. “You are pretty cute though aren’t you buddy?” Mike asked as he held and pet Bear who seemed to get comfortable in Mike’s arms.
Great, even the cat like Mike Alex thought.
“Hey…” Madelyn said as she touched Alex’s arm bringing him out of his thoughts.
“Huh?” Alex asked as he looked down at Madelyn.
“You ok?” She asked.
“Yeah.” He said as he leaned down and kissed her.
The rest of the night seemed to drag for Alex. Both he and Mike spent the rest of the night hanging out with the girls but it soon turned into Mike and Madelyn reminiscing. Alex hated that he was acting this way because even Kellie seemed okay with the situation. He knew Mike and Madelyn were just friends and that Mike his best friend would never do that to him and he also believed Madelyn wouldn’t do anything to hurt him either but he couldn’t help but be jealous.
Alex was taken from his thoughts when Madelyn snuggled into him and put her forehead into the crook of his neck.
“You ok?” He asked as he kissed her head and rubbed her back.
“I’m tired.” Madelyn said back. “Wanna come with me?” She asked quietly as she left a quick peck on his neck.
“Yeah, let’s go.” He said as he took her hand in his and stood up.
“Night guys.” Madelyn said tiredly.
“Night.” Kellie said as she stood up and gave Madelyn a hug.
“Oh, I almost forgot.” Madelyn said as she turned around. She walked over to where Mike was sitting, leaned down and kissed Bear on the head.
“Hey!” Mike complained as Madelyn turned around to head to bed. “What about me?” He asked as he stood up and turned her back around. Madelyn chuckled as she hugged him.
“Night Mike.” Alex clenched his fist as he walked into Madelyn’s bedroom. Madelyn followed close behind and closed the door behind her.
“Hey.” She said as she flopped onto the bed next to him.
“Hi.” He answered back as he pulled her over to him and quickly found her lips. He gently moved both him and her and leaned over her and cupped her face as he kissed her.
“I’ve wanted to do that all night.” He said once they pulled apart.
“Are you ok baby?” She asked.
“Yeah, better now that I’m hanging out with you.” He said with a smile.
“Wanna talk about it?” Madelyn asked as she ran her fingers through his hair trying to relax him.
“No.” He said as he brought her free hand up to his lips and kissed it. “Thanks though.” He said as he leaned over and kissed her.
“Well I’m here if you need anything.” Madelyn said.
“I know, thank you.” He said as he leaned over and kissed her once again.
“I know you’re tired so why don’t we go to bed.” Alex suggested.
“Ok, night sweetie.”
“Night Maddie.”
